This picture shows Apollo 14 astronaut Alan Shepard swinging his makeshift golf club for the third time. The golf ball is actually visible in flight, as the white dot in the upper right corner of the picture. Behind Shepard, you can see astronaut Ed Mitchell, who later threw an improvised javelin. This next picture was taken from inside the lunar module, through a window. The red arrow indicates the golf ball, which landed in a crater. The blue arrow is pointing at the "javelin," which landed nearby. Both the golf ball and javelin are still there today. Click the picture to enlarge it.
