Privacy Policy
The Center for the Study of Technology and Society takes online privacy very seriously, and suggests web users visit our Personal Security topic page for links to a number of sites which explore online privacy.
On the web. The Center website does not put cookies on your computer, and uses no mechanism for tracking individual users, although we do periodically monitor activity on our servers to help us improve our site for users.
Over e-mail. The Center operates two e-mail newsletters. We allow our subscribers to join and leave through the Topica service. We do not know the names of our subscribers, and we do not use their e-mail addresses for anything other than sending our newsletters. We do not share e-mail addresses with anyone except Topica. You can read Topica's privacy policy here.
Opt-out. Subscribers who wish to be removed from the list can follow these easy directions.
Children. Since our mailing lists are administered by Topica, we are bound by their children's subscription policies.
Changes. Any changes to this policy will be reflected on this site. Subscribers to our weekly e-mail will receive prompt notification of any material changes in information collection or information use policies pertaining to the Center’s e-mail database.
